End of the world ~ Are you ready?
Jein! Yes and no! Depends…which world is ending? THE world or just the world.
well.. like I said… I’m not loosing any sleep over it.
oh…that whole thing was not there when looked the first time…
No i don’t believe it. I think it is really silly for Christians to take it seriously too. The calender of a pagan tradition runs out and that means that the christian rapture is upon us? I don’t know about that.
It ends in a question mark.
End of the world ~ Are you ready?
Where? The only time I see a question is when the mayan gays are out of tools…
Dang, that’s tough. I guess to be ready, you’d hafta treat each day like your last, telling your family as nicly as you can, giving and rarly taking, showing affection to those who need it most… that’s a LOT of stuff you’d hafta do before the end of the world… this sucks. Now I’m depressed. :(
Sometimes, I think this site is a revenue generator for psychologists and like professions. If you are here you are either sad, or become sad by association. But I guess that isn’t necessarily true since I feel fine usually, but still…
It cannot be predicted when the end of time will be. Only God knows when He will come back. We should treat every day like our last. We can watch for the signs and I believe we are seeing those signs and that the end is near, but who knows it could still be a hundred years away or more.
I don’t believe in the Mayan stuff its kinda funny how folks actually buy into that stuff. I read some very intersting stuff on just how hokey that stuff really is. As far as post trib or pre trib what does it really matter anyway. As believers we need to be ready to go. I can say this we are living in the end times and thats for sure. My oldest daughter read Matthew 24 to me last night so I had my Thursday night family bible study center around this chapter. Both of my daughters were very interested in knowing more about this but I assured them that God has us and thats all that really matters. Fretting about it is not what we should be doing.
I think it’s funny that people buy into other myths and fables and rubbish the Mayan ones.
Be honest, what makes the Christian stories more believable than the Mayan ones?
Is it because the Christians slaughtered them?

I meant to add…history is written by the winners, right?

LMAO… OMG that was so irreverently funny! :D
cheers Richard, I do my best
Like I said… I don’t much buy into any of it either. I mean part of it is my own spiritual belief in the fact that nothing dies… it just changes form. So no matter what might happen (if anything) I’ll not really die… I just change forms. And there is the positive aspect of all this too… All these prophecies are not about the end of the world, but rather the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT. Meaning… we might (as the race of human) get our ’stuff’ together and evolve into something worthwhile! That would be nice :)

I didn’t say I but into either side, just think that it is a little inconsistent if devote Christians were to get worked up by pagans is all.
While I find religions of the world (and the superstitions that go with some of them), interesting and even fascinating, I also like to focus on the positive and not buy into the mumbo jumbo. As you mention Richard “The end of the world AS WE KNOW IT” could mean something other than gloom and doom. Although having faith in anything can be a healthy part of life, I think that it is toxic to live in fear and to have negative expectations.
it would.
I feel somewhat the same.
what so many people don’t understand is that these older, much more ancient “pagan” religions, were earth and nature based. they developed a working calendar long before the Christians came along. the “priests” were the leaders of the community as far as agriculture went, which was the main industry of the world at the time.
to dismiss it off-handedly is ignorance at it’s best.

Exactly as the bible says we will no all die but will be changed. I’m with ya brother
2012 is pretty creepy but in my mind humans will die off or go to other planets befor the earth dies. , humans carry the seed of there own destruction, if any ones going to end us its going to be us lol, thats what i think anyway
the Mayans had their “bible” or holy book too, as do many other religions throughout history.
for people to quote the bible and dismiss other religious beliefs is rather narrow-minded.
human’s are not perfect, and all religions began with superstitions.
the wise men who found the reasons behind the superstitions and knew how to manipulate them became powerful and revered.
throughout history we’ve had soothsayers and prophets. They have been found in all religions and countries.
they’re all of equal value to the believers of that faith.
My calender ran out last December, no one made a big deal about that. lol
and my calendar is from Australia…and I live in Canada…some holidays are the same, but the December pic shows Santa on a beach…..
Funny, my brother was recently speaking about Chemtrail and other such conspiracy theories. Although I find it interesting, all this about a new world order, mayan prophecy, the native prophecy of the seven fires…well I don’t sweat it much either. Each day is what you make it. I’ll live each one as if it’s my last although I am intrigued by prophecy and theory. I’m curious to see what the future holds and mainly because they are all so similar. Perhaps that was the only thing to theorize about back in the day? Meh, regardless, living in fear is silly and isn’t what I would call living.
good point, miss.
I think we all need to know there is something after this life, so as to make it worthwhile.
whether it’s reincarnation or heaven is really immaterial.
ok, I don’t really either. it was a generalisation.

I don’t.
Well that’s cool too. Whatever floats yer boat chum! Personally I believe in reincarnation until we get this thing called “life” mastered. Then we go some place that is pretty awesome I think, well maybe not…like I said, I don’t sweat it much. :)
Alpha Centauri is nice this time of year
or so I hear ;)
So is Uranus :P hehehe

ewwwww
Oh my…
I noticed a few years ago that the pronunciation for that planet had changed with some people.
One way the stress is on the second syllable, and the other way it’s on the first.
Either way, it sounds rude. ;-)
I think I get get that by pronouncing it Ur(like the ancient city) ah nus
but most people think I’m weird to do that.
It’s such a fun word, so many uses hehehe…I like it :)

That I’m weird, or that I get around it, or both? lol
The weird part, but that’s okay, cos I’m weird too!
I’m not prepared, I’m not ready to start living. Not even death seems to motivate me..
weird.

End of the world ~ Are you ready?
When you soar with the eagles, you tend to have their vision too!
~ End of the World ~ Are you ready?~
Are you ready? They say the end of the world is coming. I guess you still have a little time… the end of December 2012. But part of me is skeptical, and can’t help but wonder.
Part of me sees these two Mayan guys carving away on this stone calendar. It’s probably taken them most of the year to get as much done as they did – when out of no where, the stone carving tool breaks. “Ohhhh Dang”, says the one Indian, “the tool broke…you got another tool Apu?”. “No… man, sorry Apo , I don’t, not on me”. “Well, at least it’s December and we made this calendar thing go so far already… heck everyone here will be dead by this time… I think I’ll just stop now”. “Yeah, I think that’s a good idea – I wanted to carve some on the pyramid anyway!”. Yep… I think it might of happened just like that, and all this end of the world stuff should be listed on Snopes.com as a hoax.
The thing is what really ends anyway – that’s the way I look at it. Many of my fellow Christians are all wigged out about “The Rapture”. I’m still trying to figure out if they are upset about being taken or being left behind… I’m not sure which one is supposed to be the “bad” thing. But for those left behind… what ends? For those taken… well… I’m sure their soul and energy continue on somewhere… I don’t really know the impact of that that, but I’m sure it does.
I for one am going to join the “Right Now” club. I’m not going to loose sleep over Christmas 2012. I’m not going to keep my eyes open for the bolt of lightening that is supposed to cross the skies from east to west… I’m going to focus on right now. God has things for me now. God wants me to do things NOW. So be it!
Bright blessings ~ Richard
