e-mail help: Credit card bill showed a charge from Google NP marketing for $197.00. - Help.com

Credit card bill showed a charge from Google NP marketing for $197.00.

Disputed with my credit card company. They called and said it was a phone sent to my address and paid thru Google checkout.
BUT…..I don’t have a google checkout account. Has anyone else had this happen? If so what did you do?
So far I can’t even get the merchant that I supposedly bought these through to try and ask them about it. Visa still working on it…but how did this happen (yes it was an internet purchase) and they used my name/address/email address and said item was shipped……and I never even got it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like someone used your credit card to order it. If they used your email address you probably should have received an email with a tracking number (if it was shipped via UPS or FedEx). If so, put the tracking number in their web site and see who signed for the package.

Hmmm, Id advise anyone to go through your statements each month for bogus charges, have you ever used your card online ? for anything ? bit suspicious isn’t it. We paid aol on our credit card each month,we finished with them and closed our account. TWO YEARS! later we found out they’d still been charging it each month. I know its a pain people but please check your statement each month. Dont take it for granted they have stopped taking payment (as we did).
They reimbursed our money, but not as quickly as they’d taken it. :

You may be at risk for more credit card fraud so if you haven’t already, put a fraud alert on all your credit and debit cards.

You know, I know I sound entrusting but I often wonder about some of the folks that work for the credit card companies and if they leave on bad terms, can you imagine the amount of numbers they have seen and may have ?? Scary eh lol.

This is true. So many times I’ve called up these companies and given them all my information…it never really crosses my mind that the information I just handed out was received by another human being…one who could have had a bad financial dip and is looking for any resource possible.
Hopefully creditors have strict policies!
