Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Don’t worry…you’ll be feeling better in time, and also, you’re all the good memories from when he was alive =)
too bad you couldn’t go there and say goodbye (you are in a different place?)
i think they took him away, i was just told this evening
I’m really sorry. The thing that helps me most at times like this is to go out and be in nature alone. It’s my “church.”
i need to like go to sleep and not wake up..
no, you need to go to sleep and have a beautiful dream of your pony :)
oooooooh im sorry :( it hoooooooooorrible when your pony/horse dies, theyre really like a member of the family.
*hugs*
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, dolphinluver. Losing a pet is hard, I’ve unfortunately lost a few in my time. There was a site I found a little while ago when I lost one of my pups, and it really helped me feel better. There’s also a passage that I absolutely adore and it always makes me feel better.
The Rainbow Bridge.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…
You don’t have to be religious or even spiritual to find some comfort in that I think. I’ve just always found it calming.
http://www.petloss.com That’s the website I found, they have a support chat section full of wonderful people who’ve experianced loss, and they have a candle memorial service every week. I hope it helps just a little bit. :(
At the barn I work at now, I took lessons out there, and almost all the horses I knew out there are dead. One of my favorite ones–the one I learned to ride on also-died. When I heard, I was upset too. Losing something like that is really hard. Is there anyway you could get there, maybe lay some flowers where he was found, or put up something there? That way, you’re showing your love for him and saying goodbye. I’m really sorry for your loss Dolphinluver10.
going down to the stables yesterday made things worse, everything reminded me of him and it was too strange riding someone that wasnt him, its like ive cried too much that i cant even cry anymore, i just hope that he is happy over that bridge, and well meet again one day, thakyou all for your support xx
Dolphin, I personally believe in the ideaolgy of The Rainbow Bridge. It’s helped me immensely. I do suggest you find some support through this. Grief comes in many forms, especially with the love of a pet. They give us unconditional love and only ask the same in return. Losing them after we have such a unique and special bond spending so much time together, can be quite a shock, and can be just as painful as any loss.
I’m so sorry you lost your beloved pony. Ours died at 37 years old, and even though I’m an adult with my own daughter, she was still my first pony, the one I waited a lifetime to have, as well as my daughter’s first pony. I found a terrific website that really helped….

You can post a memorial to your sweet pony, as we did to ours. The members are all very caring people who will understand and can help.
How lucky people like you are…to find a wonderful horse to share that special bond with. Not every horse will be like that, not every person will be like that. When the two come together, even though it’s painful to lose it, it is so worth having had, even if it was brief.
Best wishes.
sorry to hear it i got to say good by to mine. but i was hard after 25 years im lost not seeing her .it will get better as all losses do with time just remember all the fun times ..and get on making new 1s.
i had a pony and knowing that i’ll never forget her was enough.
the memories with her made me realise that shes still here with me.
remember, no-one, no animal is really truly dead until they are forgotten.x
Its hard to love again wen U loose the love of your life. There is a fear of loosin again.
