wow! i really like your poetry, you have a gift!!

thank you for replying with your inspirational advice to my post - i really appreciate it. i guess i referred to myself as “emotionally unstable” because in many ways, i feel like my 21 year old daughter is already more emotionally mature/secure than i have ever been.

i really do feel like an emotional “retard” - i’ve always been so backward in all human emotions/relationships (i’ve always been more comfortable alone, even though i despise being lonely - if that makes any sense whatsoever).

i’m so glad my daughter is more like her mother - a social butterfly!

Thanks Inspector Cliche and nice name by the way! Your daughter isn’t more “stable” than you, she is simply different from you. So much damage lies in comparing ourselves to others rather than seeing our own gifts and strengths.

That makes perfect sense, sounds as though you love being in a relationship but are afraid of the pressure you feel it causes because you have a low self image. You’d be amazed the difference it makes when you know yourself and are comfortable and happy in your own skin.

As for gifts, you truly have a gift for writing. Your post was honest and eloquent, very well written.

Have you ever tried keeping a journal? It’s a safe place to enter those thoughts and feelings. You are very much “in your head” and need to get back in touch with the rest of you. I do the same thing and can totally relate.
