Family help: ok… writting this for the third time now… - Help.com

ok…

writting this for the third time now…
sh*t my laptop doesn’t want to charge anymore (who knows why it won’t) and now I’m stuck using the family computer which is like 10x slower. Plus I don’t have anything saved on this computer seeing as I haven’t used it since I have my laptop which was 4 year ago. So now I’m stuck with this thing (and I’m so not used to this keyboard.. it’s kinda weird typing on this thing again).
Anyways, anyone know why my charger isn’t charging or why my laptop battery isn’t charging??? I have no clue where the problem is….
Any help would be nice!

It usualy means no one has an answer to your question. If you have had it for only 4 months, it should still be under garauntee. Take it back and get it replaced.

I know how you feel about the keyboard!!! This happened to my uncle like a dozen times, but he’s not good with machines… while you’re waiting, can you take the battery out and just use the charger to plug in your laptop? That’s what I do a lot of the time, anyway.

The battery for your laptop is dead dude. You probably have to buy another battery. After a while they just stop accepting the charge. Find out if the company that makes your laptop will issue you another battery under a warranty.

Sorry you had it for 4 years. The chargers often need to be replced after two or three years. Might just have come to the end of it’s life.

And thats the thing, the computer doesn’t register that I have it plugged in.. so just taking out the batt and plugging it into a wall won’t work.
****, that means spending money on it.. that sucks. ok well thanks

It’s probably the charger, then, not the battery.

Lap top batteries have a very short life expectancy, my guess is either the battery is shot or the power input on the laptop has malfucntioned. I would recommend taking your lap top to a local pc repair shop and see if you can try a replacement battery before you purchase it.

If you can borrow a friends charger that might solve the problem, or take it to a repare shop. They should be able to tell you what the problem is befor you go wasting money on the wrong thing.

Thanks everyone, we brought it over to future shop (it’s where I bought it) and figured out its the charger cord that is messed up, so all I need now is the 80 bucks to buy the new charger cord! but for now we figured out how to use the broken one when its really needed!

That’s not bad. It’s not good, but it could be worse.

could be much worse, if it was the laptop itself, I would of ended up using a new one.
but now my charger broke for good so I’m off to get a new one :( 80 bucks… that’s quite the amount.
