you MAY have to apper in court. The best thing to do is call them.

(the people who you owed) and see if you can work something out, possibly lie (say it got lost in the mail) but TRY to work it our first, or they may not belive you and make it that much worse

I had to sign for it when a sheriff brought it to the door so they know it didn’t get lost in the mail. And once its in the courts hands I don’t think it can be worked out directly with the collection agency.

Ah, So Theyve Already submitted. Then Yes It Will be brought to the courts attention. ALTHOUGH, Odds are they will just make you pay it, I dont belive you ahve to pay a court bill if your summond by a companny. Either way, You were going to have to pay it sometime.

All they want is their money. They don’t want to put you in jail.

That’s why as Jen Masterson said: “call them and try to work something out” before the court date. The judge will see that you are making an honest effort to clear this matter up.

Contact your family, friends, etc. and try to get the money together to give to them. Then pay your family, friends back later. It’s embarrassing but, it will get this monkey off your back.

If that’s not possible explain your position in court. Lost job, no income, actively looking for a job, etc. The judge will always favor someone who is trying to clean up his/her debt.

if you have a court date you better show up and explain your case most judges will be fair on a payment plan. if you can pay the bill or workout details with the company that is collecting do it now. but do show up to court or then you will have trouble

Yes and a warrant will then go out for you at that time. To not respect a judge is not a good thing to do.
