friends help: i am so upset! - Help.com

i am so upset!

My parents are so strict! and i have the worst taste in guys i only attract the guys that are mentally unstable. my first boyfriend ended up cutting himself, and this last guy i kinda like is bipolar and depressed on top of that he is ADD and ADHD. and my mother pointed this out while we were discussing if i was aloud to date this guy. it makes me really mad because my parents are really strict! i have to discuss EVERYTHING with them before i do anything. i have to tell them everything. my friends dont understand when i say this they are just like, “date this guy and don’t tell your parents!” i tell them that i cant do that its just one of those things, every guy i have ever liked had had a problem. if it wasn’t mentally it was emotionally. its so bad! help!

Parents have a lot more experience and insight than teenagers. You’re probably better off to listen to them. Sounds like maybe you need to change to a different group of friends.

That is really @#%**# up it is good that your parents are involved.They are the best people to get your advice from because they love you the most.You do need to change your friends and surround yourself with more positive people.Maybe then you wont attract the crazys. There are alot of people that wished there parents was more involved in there life.That means they care.Believe there are some parents that dont give a ****. Just think about how you would be with your children especially how today is.
