Need help quick.

Got into the neverending cycle of payday loans. Now my checking account is $400 in the negative. What was supposed to help me get caught up during a bad patch has made my life a living nightmare. I just want to get my account caught back up and get these people paid off so I can hopefully have some money for Christmas for my kids.

I am not a loafer. I work and go to school on a full time basis. I just got behind due to the high prices over the summer. I work for a school and had enough savings to get through the summer until prices got out of control. Groceries and gas prices ate through what was supposed to get me through my time off.

When I got behind on my rent, I had to take a payday loan. Unfortunately circumstances did not let me get them paid off. I contacted them asking them to not try to take the money out of my account and explained the situation. They still tried and my account became in the negative. My check went to pay the overdraft and then left me with not enough money, again. I let them know this and they didn’t care. Now, I’ve got a negative balance, outstanding payday loan and still no money! I had to stop my direct deposit just so I can pay my bills. I haven’t been able to do anything with my account. I’ve tried explaining all this to the company, but they still try to take out money every two weeks instead of listening to me. This causes my account to keep going negative.

The bank will not let me do stop payments. I tried that already.

You might try explaining your situatuion, and dire need for financial aid at some church organizations. Catholic Charities have been known to assist with more then financial needs. The Salvation Army, Goodwills, and others, are designed to help the truly needy. Hope this helps. Good luck to you :)

You need to make a budget and stick to it. That loan needs to be paid first. You will have to sacrifice a few things but you will have the money that you want for Christmas. Get rid of cable, Take public transportation or walk more, Trade in that expensive phone that is costing $100 per month and just get a basic phone and services “My bill is only $30 month from local provider”, Stop going out to eat, buy more groceries from supermarkets. Just this alone will give you an extra $100+ per paycheck if you get paid every two weeks. I don’t understand why people keep posting go to Charity’s when you can do this yourself and learn how to budget your money better. Hope this helps :-)

1. We don’t go out to eat, we can’t afford it.
2. My phone bill is $25 a month through Vonage
3. There is no public transportation where I live. We don’t have bus service. I carpool with my office manager a few days during the week.
4. We actually went without gas; no hot water, no stove/oven for over two months. I had to grill or mircowave everything we ate.

I drive a Ford Aspire 1994. $20 will last me almost two weeks. I pakc my kids lunches.

College books are not cheap. But I know if I stick with it to get my degree, it will be worth it.

I am not looking for a handout, but a way to get out of the payday cycle.

Thank you for the suggestions. If I wasn’t already doing them, I would do them.
