Lame Game
Who wants to play this guessing game?
If so, continue reading…
Tho gaming poetry seems lame
You seem to be proceeding
I watch reflections of myself
When absent of a mirror
Obsessing on my looks & health
As age lines start to appear
It seems like only yesterday
When I was young & eager
Sometimes I feel I’ve gone astray
& settled far too meager
I’ve made more friends
Than I have lost
The ones I found as fiends
I tossed
But real friendships
Have only few
Those one’s for keeps
With love’s imbue
My search for God
Has planed & circled
Continued mod’s
Have me encircled
Life’s hustles have consumed my youth
& yet I can’t avoid
What little that I know of truth
Just makes me annoyed
In looking back, I realize
I never really knew me
Yet feel compelled to sanitize
Pretending what I should be
I long for peace & happiness
When thinking & in truth
Fantasize escape from madness
& 2nd chance at youth
But real life enslaves & binds
My free willed, restless soul
As I dawn my dress or tie
To chase job carrots gold
So now, I move to end this game
& here is what we’ll do
Just pretend that it’s not lame
To ask if this is you?
