The great thing about science is, that in principle you don’t ahve to study, you can derive everything, so it only comes down to practice, and experience. (though, wondering now, what kind of science are we talking about here? can you give an example?)

I think you just need to do something so you’re not stressed at test time.

What about…when you’re sitting doing a test, you try hard to think of it as doing lab work.
You say you do well at that. If you can convince your mind that it’s just lab work, or a worksheet, then you should do so much better.

There are 2 approaches to learning a subject - both equally important - One is to understand the subject (For example in Science you have physics Chemistry and biology - so you learn what they actually mean in day to day life and how important it is to learn it). The second is the academic way - of learning whats in text book, notes, slides, examples, problems and solutions and also projects. TO ace in tests focus on the second way! Studying hours is useless if you arent studying what matters! Get the senior students question papers, read them and try to solve them your self, go through problems discussed in class and make sure you can solve them or similar ones without using any notes or books! Thats the way to ace tests. also learn how to write answers correctly and clearly so that the grader gives you good marks!

Sometimes some of us just have a much harder time with certain subjects. For example I study my *** off for chemistry and I’m barely pulling a 72, I’ve never gotten a B in english and I never try or even edit my essays, its just…an aptitude thing and its been tough for me to realize my limitations in sciences as well but they are CERTAINLY there. Biology is ok for me as it pure memorization, the rest….death.

Aha, that isn’t science, that is biology! (sorry, if I might offend people here) yep, you just have to learn that ****. Because if we got to the axiomatic version, well, that requires a PHD

Sometimes the hard part about science is understanding and being able to see the application of the principles at work. You may be putting undue pressure on yourself to understand this aspect of science based on other parts of science that you already know. Take a deep breath, go talk to your teacher and explain that you are not getting this part and see if there is another way for it to be presented to you.
