Guitar Hero World Tour or Rock Band 2?
I’m looking to get one of these for the kids this Christmas. I’ve read the reviews but looking for user feedback. Also what about that drum calibration with GHWT how does that work.

Where were you?

If they’re going to be playing together a lot, Rock Band 2!!! It’s so much better as a group experience than GHWT.
There’s also so much more variety in the setlists, plus so much more downloadable content for when you get bored of the songs you already have =).
How about a real instrument? See, if you give them the games, what can they do in five years? They can mash buttons really fast. But with an instrument? They have a lifelong skill. One I, myself envy, in fact.
One is playing the piano and the other is taking up guitar so they have that. They just to mess around with the game and we can have fun as a family too

Actually, playing Guitar Hero made me want to take up lessons in real guitar Xeno. Same goes for a lot of people. It also exposed me to a bunch of music that I’d never heard [because I grew up in Hip-Hop culture] but now love. Same thing for many people. So yeah…
Eh, to each his own. In the end, it’s a game. Nothing more, nothing less.
To the OP, though. Rock Band 2 is the better game IMO. But if you want, you could get the GHWT bundle stuff and just buy the Rock Band 2 game, or vice versa. Stuff works for both.
Yeah it is. Do you guys play stuff recreationally or are you guys more hardcore into it?
one of my girls is kinda hardcore but collectively we are recreational
Well, RB2 is a pick up and play kind of game that everyone can get into and have equal fun. There’s songs for everyone: guitar heavy, bass heavy, drum heavy, and crazy vocals. It’s definitely not as difficult as GHWT. Whether that’s good or bad, depends on how you play =).
GH is notoriously hardcore. The kind of game you have to actuallywork at to get better on harder difficulties -_-. I also heard that, as it’s name suggests, the songs are more guitar oriented, so the bass and drums are lame and repetitive. [read that in a review of GHWT]
Heh, sorry for the book. Anyway, whichever you choose, I hope you guys have fun ^^.

I have a Wii and Xbox 360. The reason I want it for xbox is because I’m hooked up 5.1 channels and 1080i res the Wii’s not quite there yet
