I recently started a new job and unfortunately I am having a difficult time in catching up with my family bills.

My fiancee is unemployed but is expected to start a new job in January 2009. I have never been the one to ask for help, instead I provide help to others in need. This Xmas is a difficult one because I can’t provide for my children with “just something” to bring a smile to their faces on Xmas morning. I’m struggling to make ends meet and to secure enough money to buy them Xmas gifts, but putting other bills at jepardy. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Since your husband won’t be starting his new job until January, perhaps he could work the holiday rush in a department store or some other such temporary work. There’s still more than a month left. I know those kinds of jobs are really crummy, but it could help you put a little something aside for Christmas without derailing your bill schedule.

I completely understand what you are going through. I recently started an at-home business, and I’m still learning how to be a good business-woman. My husband is facing scope surgery on his shoulder next month, and we are living on one paycheck–his. It’s very hard for alot of people. Please don’t think you are alone. If you are managing to put aside just a little bit of money for your children while keeping them fed, you are doing better than alot of other people. Good luck sweetie. I hope everything works out and that you have a great holiday.
