im considering a divorce from my husband i havent sought

any legal counsel yet but im wondering if anyone can tell me how much money my husband will have to pay in child support and spousal support we have a 3 and 1/2 year old and a 7 year old i do not have a job im a housewife and we live in nyc

I guess it will depend on how much he earns. It’s usually a percentage of their wage

thats what i wanted to know if anyone knew the average precentage of wages for the state of ny i know i cant get an exact number

Oh. I dont know. In Australia, we have a government agency called ‘The Child Support Agency’ who deals with all that, and the figures are on their website. I dont know what your agency is called there, but I’m sure they will have a site that will have the figure you are looking for

You could consult a family law attorney. But you need to know that after a divorce, both partners are usually impoverished.

Please think long and hard before you go down this road. A divorce lawyer should be your last stop . . . never the first.
