My printer ran out of red ink when I tried to print my credit report…

A financial organization was “kind” enough to give me a credit card during my time of need. I was desperate so I got a cash advance and used it to pay rent, etc. Now the interest builds up so fast, I can’t come close to paying it.

Look for non-profit organizations that specialize in debt reduction. They can reduce or eliminate debts. It may seem bad for credit, but a settled account 2 years ago looks much better than 2 years of not paying or being behind on payments.
I ended up paying off a store credit card balance of $2000 for less than $400. The creditors would rather cut their losses than never get anything. Sure they can sue you for the money, but you can’t pay what you don’t have, and if they know you don’t have any way of paying, there’s no point in sueing.

Hi. I fled from my abusive ex-husband just before Christmas 1998. He was incarcerated due to the incident and has been in and out of jail every since so unable to provide any consistent child support. I was making a lot less money back then so I ruined my credit by drawing on my credit cards to pay rent and utilities. I have increased my salary consistently over the last 10 years while raising my daughter (now 12) but my level of debt has increased exponentially so I am as bad off. To make matters worse, I have taken out several payday loans and am now in the trap of paying “finance” charges and little/no interest every 2 weeks when I get paid.

Add to that the Demand for Rent notice I received this weekend and I have approximately 30 days (until December 11, 2008) before the Eviction process begins and I’m out on the street in early January (Happy New Year!). I have lived in this crappy apartment for almost 6 years because it was the lowest rent in the area (NH) and have endured mice, my daughter’s closet being out of commission for A YEAR AND A HALF due to squirrels getting into and the negligence of my slumlord to fix it. I was slow on rent and finally they fixed it. I would love to get out of this building by my own volition but have completely ruined my credit and my health and am in dire dire straits trying to live in New England and raise my daughter.

A personal loan of $10,000 over 4 years at an interest rate of 15% would yield a monthly payment of $278.31 which I could very well afford once these predatory payday loans are paid and not drawing from my checking account bi-weekly. I am paid bi-weekly by direct deposit and could should evidence of both the amount and frequency of my payroll deposits.

PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING ME. IF MY CREDIT HAD SURVIVED MY DIVORCE I WOULDN’T BE IN THIS MESS.

Hi. I fled from my abusive ex-husband just before Christmas 1998. He was incarcerated due to the incident and has been in and out of jail ever since (for other alcohol soaked matters) and thus has been consistently unable to provide regular child support. I was making a lot less money back then so I ruined my credit by drawing on my credit cards to pay rent and utilities. I have increased my salary consistently over the last 10 years while raising my daughter (now 12) but my level of debt has increased exponentially so I am as bad off as I was then (actually worse) because I have worse credit. To make matters even worse, I have taken out several payday loans and am now in the trap of paying “finance” charges and little/no principal every 2 weeks when I get paid.

Add to that the Demand for Rent notice I received this weekend and I have approximately 30 days (until December 11, 2008) before the Eviction process begins and I’m out on the street in early January (Happy New Year!). I was slow on rent and finally they fixed it. I would love to get out of this building by my own volition but have completely ruined my credit and my health and am in dire dire straits trying to live in New England and raise my daughter. If not for the payday loans eating up each of my paychecks, I could gather money together for security deposit & 1st month’s rent in about 1 month.

PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING ME. IF MY CREDIT HAD SURVIVED MY DIVORCE I WOULDN’T BE IN THIS MESS. My ex is out and about again and living for himself. I am in the process of getting more support from him (he was conveniently unemployed when the divorce became final and since then, works for a few months, then gets arrested again so I haven’t had occasion to take him back for more support because his status seems to change every 6 mos. or so. AARRRGGGH.

Bailout the auto makers? How about bailing out PEOPLE so that they can live on more than paycheck to paycheck and perhaps be able to consume and replenish the market. I will move to Canada if they bail out Detroit.
