What exactly happends to the president after his term is over?

Such as what will happen to Bush in Jan? Will he just be another American? Does he get like protection after his term is over?(I dont plan on hurting him or anything I’m just wondering)

I’m under the impression they get Secret service body guards and (according to michael moore) they get secret classified info from the CIA and whatnot if they request it.

Probably go on some sort of tour like Clinton promoting his book and doing public speaking (though I highly doubt bush will be doing any public speaking)
