Why do some people not smile back when you smile at them (and it’s obvious that the smile is directed at them)?
It’s smile at Strangers Day today!

I’ll answer your question… I know that I don’t always smile at people because I don’t like my teeth, so if I’m having a bad day, I don’t want to show them.
i smile at everyone&usually i get smiles back
if not i call them miserable buggers, therefore they cant help but smile lol!
anyways big smiles coming thru *smiles*
=)
I’m a smiler, but sometimes people smile unexpectedly by the time I get to smile back, they’ve turned away or look elsewhere.
That happens to me all the time and I end up smiling to myself like a complete Wally☼₦ḭṤă☼ wrote:

Me too lol.
I honestly have no clue as to what’s going on around me most of the time. Someone could be calling my name and i probably wouldnt hear them because I’m so self involved. I wander around all day thinking, don’t tend to pay much attention to other people looking at me…..
It depends where you are. In my hometown, it was a small town, mostly middle-class, farmers and shop-workers, so stress wasn’t such a big thing there. Everyone would smile to me there :)
London and big cities are usually really bad for people not smiling back…
The only two cities I’ve ever lived in were voted the two most polite cities in England, and people always smile here/there :D
