Love help: What do you buy a 13 year old boy for Christmas? - Help.com

What do you buy a 13 year old boy for Christmas?

My little brother lives a couple hours away, so I don’t see him often, but I know he likes Yu-Gi-Oh! & video games & doesn’t play sports. He’s not nerdy, but he isn’t a jock… I got my little sister a ring that I know she’ll love & I don’t want to get my little bro something he won’t be equally happy with. My sister’s ring was a $50 value, but I got it for $12 b/c I work for the company. I can only spend about $20 for his gift. Please help b/c I live in a small town & have to order EVERYTHING!

Those cards are really inexpensive, you can buy something related to the game for him and that should work nicely. Videogames can be expensive, so I’d drop that if you’re on a budget.

The gift for your sister sounds great, and it was very thoughtful of you to think of your little brother’s feelings as well. Beyond that, I wish you luck!

You sound like a great big sister! Ask your little sister, or your parents for advice. Theu must know of something he wants. You could even ask him what he wants for christmas, then you get an idea of what other things he might like.

I’m looking for the same type of thing and I have found some suggestions. Spy gear seems big. I also liked the idea of a backpack or messenger-type bag. If there is a place to rent movies locally, you could get a big bowl an fill it with packs of microwave popcorn and some candy. Then, stick a gift certificate to the rental place on top and he has a movie night in a bowl. Or, what little brother wouldn’t get a kick out of having his big sister clean his room? You could give him a home-made gift certificate for that (And, you may even find some ideas while you’re in there that may help the next time you want to buy him a gift :0)

Good luck - your heart is in the right place. 13 year old boys don’t often tell their sisters how cool they are, but you certainly seem to be a kind, caring older sister. Well done!!

My son is 9 and sounds just like him! he’s into the same things. the cards are ok but not the best gift idea. you can get yu gi oh playstation, nintendo ds, and most other video games pretty cheap. they also have lots of extras besides the cards for less than 20 at walmart. they are in the toy section on the “boy toy” isle. they sale things like deck holders, game boards, special cards etc etc. if he’s into yu gi oh he’s probably also into bakugan which is cheap.

Card games are cool but me being a thirteen year old boy i know i dont realy want cards i get he isnt a jock but cards aren’t always the best. It may sound bad but good literature always works for me mabey see if he has read the following series Ranger Apprentice, Persey Jackson and the olympians, then hunger games great series if we like to read those are a great choice

Get them a guitar, or video games. But if anything, not YuGiOh. That will get soo old in minutes. they do nothing. They loose value. Just spend the money, and get them 1 or 2 things that last for years to come, rather than 10 or 11 things that will last around a day. I grew out of pokemon in the third grade, and I never got into Yu Gi Oh. Take it from me. A 13 year old boy, that wouold be insulted if my mother got me Yu Gi oh ards for Christmas.
