Ive come such a long way to believe in God.
But EVERYTIME I really have faith and trust Him He lets me down. I know I dont deserve anything. But its by faith not by works. Im Abraham’s seed but where is my inheritance? Can somebody tell me? Does faith work?

Same here. but iduno whos seed i’m and iduno the answers to your question.
You’re expecting some kind of reward? In religion, you only find out if you get the award after you die.
No, not a reward. I just want to live.
You can’t force faith. If you don’t believe, you don’t believe. I myself am an agnostic humanist. My advice is to simply live the way you feel is right. Whether that way be by religion, secular philosophy, or a combination of the two is entirely up to you. And if someday you find that you believe, or if you still believe through everything you face, the more power to you.
I figure God would want you to be good on your own terms rather than be forced to based on a message you aren’t sure about.
What is it, unanswered prayers or not seeing the fruits of your labor or ? Whatever it is I can try to help and if not I’ll invite my friends to help
Faith does work. But that does not mean that you will have an easy life believing in GOD. GOD promises us that we will have trials and hardships, Jesus did, so why would we think that our life would be any different. Following GOD can be the most rewarding and difficult thing you can do.
James 1:2-4
“2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Also, read the book of Job, he was put threw some of the hardest things I could ever imagine and his faith made it to the end, he persevered, which is what GOD is asking us.
My own feelings on this are that following the 10 commandments is a good idea.
But, we can’t expect because we do, God will look after us.
How often does prayer really work?
How often does getting off our backsides and making an effort to change, really work?
We live our best when we set good examples to others, to help others when we can, to be pleasant to and treat others fairly.
Doing these will help us feel better too.

gooooooooooood
Funny that you bring up Job. I wonder how he’d feel about his God if someone told him that God allowed him to go through all of that pain just to win a bet.
God knew that Job would continue to trust Him. God’s reasons for putting us threw trials are way above our own understanding, he is an infinite God, and we are finite beings, all he is asking us to do is trust Him. Job knew this and even though at times he questioned God he persevered to the end, and his Faith was stronger because of it.
God allowed Satin to do all the things he did to Job to prove to Satin that Job was a man of true and great faith. And I believe that if Job knew this he would have still had true and great faith.
The thing is that Job ended up questioning God’s logic in the end (the fact that the beginning of the book has such a different tone than what follows has caused some scholars to believe that the book had multiple authors, but that’s another story). He may not have openly renounced God (after all, he was religious to the end), but he did question God’s reasoning, and in that respect began to think differently about God’s plan. God responded by saying that Job could not possibly understand God’s purpose to begin with and as such had no right to complain.
It’s interesting to note that Job had gotten more wealth than ever before and a new family, but his original family stayed dead. Honestly, I don’t think that giving a fresh start with a new family counters the damage done by killing the first family, no matter how much money Job got in the end. They died because of God’s little test, even though they had done nothing wrong.
Also, it’s spelled “Satan”, from the Hebrew “ha-satan”. Satin is just a nice fabric (may have just been a spelling mistake on your part, but just saying…).
God sat back and let his worst enemy torture one of his most devout.
What a swell guy.
