i think my kidneys are hurting?

im pretty sure it is my kidenys that have been hurting. my urine isnt any different so i dont think i should be concerned. ive been drinking a lot of cranberry juice, because i heard that it is good for my urinary systems.

i guess my question is, should i get a urine test done? or is it not anything to worry about? thank youu.

I had kidney stones and what you describe here is that you most likely have them too. Instead of urine exam, have an ultrasound, or better yet, X-ray and see a specialist ASAP. If it gets worse, it will be life threatening.

It’s important that you get yourself checked out by a doctor.

Don’t overdo the cranberry juice. Just 2 glasses a day is sufficient. Too much can actually cause tooth decay as most juices are actually high in sugar. Combine sugar with the acidity of cranberries and you have a powerful tooth enamel destroyer. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day though. It’s a good idea to rinse your mouth with water after drinking high sugar fruit juices.

If you are on a “lite” version, with aspartame or other sweetener.. consider the possible effects of those chemicals too. There have been studies linking these chemicals to other nerve and brain disorders. Personally, I would always opt for the most natural products you can find. You can brush your teeth but you can’t brush your nervous system.

To get back to the question, never ignore any unusual kidney symptoms. Most likely nothing to worry about, but the only person who can say is a doctor.

Why wait?

If you wait.. you will worry and could cause damage if something simple is left untreated.

Any doctor will be able to give you a quick check up. Check with your family if you are in US and what the score might be on insurance etc. If you’re at college, there should be access to some kind of student health care centre.

If there’s something needs treating, it needs doing sooner rather than later.

You can always go to your family doctor for further advice later if you feel you need it.

Not all kidney stones problems have the same symptom. It starts with being “just annoying”. You need to go and have an X-ray done. Don’t wait.

I was running a fever a couple months ago and my body hurt all over. Went to the doctor and he did a urine test. He said I did not have an infection but there was blood in my urine. He just diagnosed me with a viral infection and gave me antibiotics. Well yesterday I woke up and my lower back hurts so bad that i can barely move. I could not even bend over to put my own pants on. I have severe pains shooting down my legs. When I have to urinate, I can’t hold it and have to go immediately to avoid having an accident. I am still in severe pain and can barely walk. HELP.
