A Child’s Eyes
Beyond his years
his dark eyes
seem lost
an echo surrounds him
an echo of the past
present and future
a lonely wind
sweeps through his village
reminding him of the loss
sickness spreads
like a wild fire
everyday
a face disappears
never to be seen again
he lives in fear
of tomorrow
and though young in years
he seems much older
life’s struggles
reflects from
his dark
