Where were you?

Stress/anxiety could be a big part of it.
However, try washing your hair every other day and letting it air dry. Do you also use a flat iron (straightner)? If so, only straighten it when you absolutely have to and use the lowest temperature that you can. Even if you don’t use a flat iron, you still should probably invest in some heat-protecting spray.
It sounds like your hair is incredibly damaged. How does your hair feel? Is it really dry and “hay” like feeling?
A couple years ago the same thing sort of happened to me. I had really long hair that I dyed blonde. I’d touch up the roots at least once a month, which was pretty extreme. I’d also change shades of blonde a lot. My hair was really dry and brittle.
I had to eventually get it cut short and now it’s been like 3 years since I’ve even
dyed it. I basically refuse to now, because my hair was in such bad shape. I don’t ever want to go back to that.
Make sure you also get your hair trimmed regularly.
I have a similar problem, though I know its not because of anything I do to my hair because all of the women in my family also shed a lot. We aren’t balding, I still have plenty of hair on my head, I just also have plenty of hair on the floor and in the shower drain. Sometimes I am amazed at how much hair I can lose and still have hair on my head. Anyway, I take fish oil and less falls out. If your issue sounds similar try that. You can get it at any vitamin place or even grocery stores.
i would have your thyroid checked by the dr’s… this was the cause of my hair falling out.. also, do you have an eating disorder? eating disorders can also make this happen too..
plus, if your hair is really long, it could just be that its too heavy and pulling out.. maybe cut it and see if that makes a difference..
just trying to give some opinions…
my hair are shhort but htey fall out and i m balding
Hi
I am a 34 year old woman and used to have the most beautiful hair. Then one day it just started to fall out and didn’t stop for a year. It is one of the most nightmarish experiences of my life! I tried many different things but nothing worked. My aunt said that she heard folic acid helps, but I was skeptical by that time and shrugged it off. A few weeks later, curiosity got the better of me and I tried it. It took about 3 weeks to kick in and it works! My hair has not only stopped falling out, it is returning to it’s previous thickness! Please try it, I take 10mg a day. I know it’s high, but I feel no side affects. I think my hair will soon as beautiful as it used to be!
My hair used to be thick and very curly. All of the sudden it started falling out in mass quantities.. no exaggeration, I know I’ve lost over 50 percent within 3 to 4 weeks time. It seems to have stopped. There are a few things it could be. I don’t have health insurance and so I am hoping its the less tragic of them. I’ve been told if u have been really ill it can take up tp 6months for ur body to resoind..as in purging toxins from your body through shedding of hair and nails and peeling skin. I had h1n1 with over 106 fever for 8days.if this is what it is then hair should start to grow back within 3 to 4 months of when it stops falling out or really slows down. I started taking prenatal vitamins (even though I am not pregnant) along with biotin, a vitamin for hair growth. They both seem to help. My hair is healthy and not dry and brittle. I sont flat iron but once a month or for special occasions. Could also be thyroid or hormonal inbalance. I have female problems such a long periods (up to 12 mo one time) heavy heavy heavy flow.. sometimes don t have period for up to 3 months. I go to bed freezing and wake up sweating. So I amn also told could be early menopause. I just turned 30 in nov, which is when the hairloss started. Could also be stress of the recent sale of my business, and the stress of temporarily working for the new owner. Anyone know how to pinpoint which of these it migt actually be? Also I have highlights that re very grown out and would like to dye my hair back to its natural color. Is it ok to do this since my hair seems to have stopped falling out? I don’t want to tramatize it more by doing this but I also need to look professional without grownout roots and since hair is so thin, want to wear my clip in hair piecw but its dark and doesn’t match hair until I dye it. Anyone have any suggestions?
Sincerely,
Thin hair lady T
My hair was at its healthiest last summer and then the first of this year it started coming out in the shower and when I brushed my hair by large amounts. It has thinned so much the past few months, it doesnt even look like the same head. I have tried prenatal vitamins and nu hair vitamins, even special shampoos and cant really tell any difference. I’ve had bloodwork done and everything came back fine. I have no idea what to do next. Its not balding areas, just overall thin. Any suggestions or ideas? I am thin, but no more than I have been the past couple of years. My stress levels fluctuate, I just cant imagine what would have caused such a traumatic affect like this.
you have to request a copy of your blood work, and find out what the normal range is for normal rbc count. if it’s borderline ok, the doctor may not discuss it with you. also, blood taken from you may not reveal a simple lack of nutrition. very important! vitamin B, folic acid, and iron! eat well, and you don’t have to worry so much, which also contributes to female hair loss. .. but start with the supplements!
I have a similar problem. I dyed my hair about a month ago. I had not died my hair in about 6 months so I decided to go with a different color (brownish red to auburn). At first my hair started to fall out at a faster but not too worrying rate. However as each week went by it started to fall out faster and faster. Now my hair has thinned to half its volume. I usually have very thick curly hair. Now its thin and stringy. There aren’t chunks missing. Its all over. Every time I brush my hair or take a shower more hair comes out than the last time. My hair also stretches to incredible lengths the breaks. I’m so scared and I don’t know what to do. Its causing anxiety every time I get up in the morning or go to bed. I keep it up everyday because my hair tangles so easily. Does anyone know what I can do? I’m afraid I’m going to loose all my hair. Will it stop? PLEASE help!

hey, im a 15 year old girl i just died my hair and it seemed to get thinner, but i have pretty thin hair to begin with is there anyway that i can regain the thickness fast? thankss but plz help!
It is verrry important to have blood work done. If everything is fine start talking centrum vitamins for adults (one a day) and possibly iron supplements. It’s been three weeks since i’ve been doing this since my 6month shed of hair and its finally starting to calm down.
