Stress/anxiety could be a big part of it.
However, try washing your hair every other day and letting it air dry. Do you also use a flat iron (straightner)? If so, only straighten it when you absolutely have to and use the lowest temperature that you can. Even if you don’t use a flat iron, you still should probably invest in some heat-protecting spray.

It sounds like your hair is incredibly damaged. How does your hair feel? Is it really dry and “hay” like feeling?

A couple years ago the same thing sort of happened to me. I had really long hair that I dyed blonde. I’d touch up the roots at least once a month, which was pretty extreme. I’d also change shades of blonde a lot. My hair was really dry and brittle.

I had to eventually get it cut short and now it’s been like 3 years since I’ve even
dyed it. I basically refuse to now, because my hair was in such bad shape. I don’t ever want to go back to that.

Make sure you also get your hair trimmed regularly.

I have a similar problem, though I know its not because of anything I do to my hair because all of the women in my family also shed a lot. We aren’t balding, I still have plenty of hair on my head, I just also have plenty of hair on the floor and in the shower drain. Sometimes I am amazed at how much hair I can lose and still have hair on my head. Anyway, I take fish oil and less falls out. If your issue sounds similar try that. You can get it at any vitamin place or even grocery stores.

I would say do less with you’re hair. Leave it alone more so it will have a chance to recover.

i would have your thyroid checked by the dr’s… this was the cause of my hair falling out.. also, do you have an eating disorder? eating disorders can also make this happen too..

plus, if your hair is really long, it could just be that its too heavy and pulling out.. maybe cut it and see if that makes a difference..

just trying to give some opinions…

Hi

I am a 34 year old woman and used to have the most beautiful hair. Then one day it just started to fall out and didn’t stop for a year. It is one of the most nightmarish experiences of my life! I tried many different things but nothing worked. My aunt said that she heard folic acid helps, but I was skeptical by that time and shrugged it off. A few weeks later, curiosity got the better of me and I tried it. It took about 3 weeks to kick in and it works! My hair has not only stopped falling out, it is returning to it’s previous thickness! Please try it, I take 10mg a day. I know it’s high, but I feel no side affects. I think my hair will soon as beautiful as it used to be!
