I have great news for you. I have come to the conclusion that talent doesn’t matter much. What really matters is passion and effort. So if you get lucky with art -great! Lucky you. If you also have persistence, you will be a success.

You have nothing to fear. What is artistic talent anyway? One person likes one thing, another likes something else. People become successful if they keep at it and have a passion for what they do.

Maybe it is actually talent, and not just luck?
Anyway, I know how you feel. Not precisely, but I’m in a similar spot. Advice that I’ve been given is something like this: Start by working out what you enjoy and what you are good at (even if you are only slightly good at it), and then work out where to go from there. You don’t have to have a conventional career and a conventional future if that’s not what you want. Granted, being unconventional is harder because there are fewer role models and fewer guidelines; but maybe then you could become one more role model for people to follow?

Nobody likes their own artwork so enjoy that your peers appreciate your work. Keep working, eventually you’ll find beauty in your own artwork. It just takes time and patience. I’m sure you have something if others love it.
