Question about statistics

So some press release is putting out statistics about the students in my county. It’s like “92.8% of students don’t smoke” or do this or that ect. So does anyone know how many people they actually survey. And from the schools that i go to, these statistics are way wrong. So do they go to some straight-edge school or what?

haha just a rant thanks

Hah, must have. That or they are making up fake statistics. Same thing happend at my school once too, xcept it went the opposite. My brother has never drank alchohal in his life, and yet, the administrator lady against drugs and alchohal said that all seniors had tried alchohal that year!! Pissed me off, making up lies like that….but frankly, bout 95% of people are gonna do something illegal before they are of age to do it, so….that’s the way life goes ;P

Well every survey is different, so you’d have to contact the publishers to find out how many people they asked. They probably take a sample of students from every school in your county, so if you go to a particularly “bad” school the stats will be off for you.. but they’re doing it for the county so it’s the overall count they care about. And it may seem that everyone smokes because of the people you hang out with. Make sure you look at everyone in your school, even those kids that sit by themselves at the lunch table!

Yeah, they are usually pretty inaccurate though….but it is what i’m trying. I have to write the script for my whole group and turn it in tomorrow….Lot of work for one person. Has to be in spanish obviously,….i’ve been at it for 4 hours…just taking a quick break.
