Why don’t you make a poll?

check the FAQ, or don’t, ’cause I just copied the section on polls :)

The poll directive will automatically create a poll and allow you to have others vote for various options. The creation of a poll is amazingly easy, and it looks like this:

[poll: option1, option2, option3, optionN]

A poll may consiste of as many options as you want and will simply work once you insert it. Separate each option with a comma.

I believe in God, but nothing past that really. I think you have to figure things out in life for yourself. Don’t just accept what someone else tells you or what some scripture says, think for yourself and make your own decision :)

No Hinduism? Third most common religion and it isn’t on the poll?

No religion, with the subset that I don’t think there is a god.

I’m a secular humanist; not sure if there is a God, but I believe humans have responsibility over their own actions.

what if i believe in God but don’t know what religion i fit into? should i put other?

Catholicism is a branch of Christianity.

Atheism is a branch of none.

I know, I just left it for people who simply don’t associate themselves with any religion or non-religion.

Putting both Christian and Catholic in there is kind of like saying, ‘What’s your favorite animal, Dogs or Weiner Dogs?’

Yeah. You could probably lump all the theistic people into the category of deluded.

Well… that would only allow a few choices in this one.

I am a muslim and voted as such. However, I am curious, the title of this post is ‘Losing my religion’.. would you like to elaborate on that or have any particular unanswered questions that is causing you to feel this way?

Is voting the wrong term to use? I saw a poll and made the appropriate ’selection’ then.

I just figured suggesting a poll would be a good idea to avoid a huge “Religion Fight”.
Honestly I am so sick of those. And they happen all the time around here.

I agree.

I know that. We all know that.

I also know that if I didn’t add atheism to the list, a bunch of people would come on here and say “Well, I have no religion!”

Universal Unitarian…. I believe in God or a higher power, and I also believe that every other religion that holds the moral beliefs very much like the Ten Commandments, is correct. You could be a native american and believe in the sun god and wind god for all i care, as long as you are a good person.

And if you don’t need dogma to tell you how to act? What if you’re good without any faith?

i never said atheists were incorrect, I’m just saying that I accept any religion or practice that promotes morality. I don’t have to go to church or temple to prove that I’m a good person, nor do i have to attend those rituals in order to make it to the after life.

Atheists? They have just as much faith that there’s no god as theists do that there is a god.

I’m asking about your personal opinion about agnostics; people who simply don’t take sides because it’s impossible to KNOW the truth.

i think agnostics have every reason to not take a side, there is no real proof and it doesn’t mean you lack faith, it just means you don’t believe in something that would be considered in society as insane.

True. Most agnostics have faith in something. I’m a weird breed, though, I don’t.

Haha, oh, you’d be surprised. I don’t talk about it much anymore because I don’t like repeating myself if I can avoid it, but I seem to have this magnet in me that attracts f**ktards. Specifically rampant fundamentalist Christians. I made a bunch of posts about it back in the day.

Anyway, just to summarize… yeah, I’ve been told that I’m full of sh*t more times than I care to count simply because people can’t comprehend someone not needing faith to get through their day.

i think people have a faith because they don’t know what else to believe in. It’s good to have faith but you can’t let it be the sole reason to live
