Love help: I was at a college party. - Help.com

I was at a college party.

This guy wanted a cigarette from me and i told him “I’ll give you one, if you tell what you truly always wanted out of life?” He couldn’t do it. It took him 5 tries before he told me he wanted a beautiful wife and a big house and I thought “thats it” “you didn’t even say love for this beautiful wife” “you didn’t even try or you don’t even know what you want.” Are people really like this.I’m I crazy for thinking that was just a bunch of bull. In a universe of literally infinite possibilities you wanted that. Nothing deep or valid to say. It blew me away. Back to the point, I really want to know, “What have you always wanted?”

Love, and family. To travel the world. Romance and adventure. Friends. A home that is a sanctuary. To find a path where I shine. To help nature and people.

college party=he was probably too drunk/high to even know his name.

I want true happiness out of life. for me, that means love, family, travel, pretty much what the person above me said :)

Hey, Dublin, if you’re ambitions are so much better than ours *wink*, then what do YOU want? Why don’t you give us an example? : )

You will most likely not be meeting the most thoughtful gentlemen at these college parties.
To answer your question: I just want personal success in such a way that I won’t have to struggle day to day to support myself and any others I’m with. I hope to get married and have a family; the possibility exists that my wife will be someone I don’t really love, but I hope that is not the case. One day I will have an amazing family and all will be great. Work will contain me at times, yet I will always find time to love my family and be with them.
It’s not so simple to ask what we want. In all honesty, I just want to finish my final projects and exams successfully as this semester ends. It’s incredibly difficult, and for that reason I often forget about everything else while trying to reach these goals (doing well).
Thanks for making me remember what it’s all for.

Thank you for asking. I don’t know. I don’t have a ******* clue. The whole point of this was to find something. When he answered I thought later of what I wanted. I guess love but that not even enough. I mean you know how …… crappy love is. It sucks. That’s why I thought I ask everyone else. I just feel like there something more out there. Maybe it can’t be put into words yet but i feel like there something greater, something beyond human thought. That it’s just so **** pure it can’t be denied, proven wrong or ugly. Fantasy right?
