Tales of Suspense, part II.

since it was a while ago, many of you should be needing to read this:

After being accosted by…whatever it was, i was naturally reluctant to leave my home, or, even the room i was in, really. But something inside of me felt compelled, beyond all common sense or good judgment, to find my dog, despite the foreboding feeling that something would happen to me if i did. I decided i should call my friend, Tom, over just in case something were to happen. I picked up the phone and dialed. As he greeted me, i caught a breif glimpse a hulking silhouette move unnaturally fast in the mirror. I knew i had to be fast. “Tom, its Joe, get over here, NOW! I think somethings–” and thats all i managed before i saw the same hulking silhouette again, except this time, it wasnt in the mirror, it was in front of me. With each passing it got closer and closer, i reached out around me, looking for something, anything, to combat this threat. Suddenly, i felt something, and grabbed it, i brought it in front of me in hopes i could use it to fight, but discovered that it was actually the tail of…a dog. The thing started speeding straight towards me, and while i didnt get to see it clearly, i did see clumps of bloody fur along what i assumed were it’s teeth. I dropped the tail and ran, no time to grieve, i made it to the front door, and i was about to go outside when—….I arrived at the house, in a panic. He didnt get to tell me much, but i knew from the way he sounded, he had to be in serious trouble. I entered the house, and saw nobody. “Joe,” I shouted, “Its me, Its Tom!” I looked around a bit and saw something i didnt notice upon entry. there was a small pool of blood, and Joe’s left shoe in front of the door. “Dammit” i cursed aloud, “First Hank, then Gerry, and now they have Joseph.” I walked back out to my truck, and silently contemplated my next move…..
