how do i keep on “flirty” terms w/ this girl?

i really really like her. we anre in band together at school. im a sophmore and she’s a junior. I met her at the beginning of the school year but after a recent band trip, i really got to know her during a bus ride. I think she kind of likes me too because she isnt a very shy person but she still usually acts kind of shy around me. Im waaaaaaaayyyyyy to nervous to ask her out so im kind of planning on waiting till our sadie hawkins dance or something and have her hopefully ask me. The only problem is that our dance isnt until february so im afraid of becoming just a friend between now and then.
What can i do to show her i like her and keep her liking me until either i get some courage or the dance comes along?

There are so many possibilities! What are you good at? If you’re good at writing, write her something. Music? Art? Cooking? Massages? Or give her a gift. Something that shows you know her taste. If you don’t, anyone worth pining after will appreciate something you made. If that’s not your style- like you’re too cool for school- then just buy her a necklace and put it on her. : ) The girl could hardly refuse. I don’t know about her, but I’ve always treasured small gifts from guys, especially when I was a kid.

Maybe now’s the time to ask her out. But if you really insist on just staying flirty, I guess just do special things for her. Although sometimes if you’re too nice to a girl and you, like, make the wrong moves too fast she’ll think that you just want into her pants…depends on how you flirt, really…But she might get the idea that you don’t really want a real relationship with her if you just keep flirting…
