ATTN: AVON REPS!
I am in a position where I seriously need to step up my game. I have a video store in which I also sell Avon products, but I really need to make more money with Avon. I have contacted everyone I know (not many), how can I reach more customers? I tend to make only about $40/campaign and would like to increase that to $800. How do you do it?

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
i know a girl who does it, she would go into shops in her area and gives the catalogs to female workers, makes a mint off them.
do you know what she says to them… some people look at me like i’m crazy
“First of all make a list of your family, friends, coworkers, etc.then tell them about your new Avon business. You could send out emails to people you know and even text message them. Start carrying your brochures around in your car and give them to everyone you have the courage to talk to. It’s really hard to talk to people about it the first few times but it will get easier! Some things that worked for me:
-got my mom to start telling people at her work that I sell Avon(She works at a coffee shop where lots of business people go) She just found me 2 offices to bring books to and her coworkers order from me now.
-put up a flyer at work( I work at a convenience store) When I’m there an I see someone looking at my flyer I offer them a book.
-wear Avon, carry Avon around with you, let a brochure stick out of your purse. People do ask about it when they see it. I just got a customer in my apartment building because she saw me carrying a box of Avon stuff to my car. Then she told someone else in the building so that’s two new customers without even trying.
-put up ads on classified sites and make sure you follow the rules. I have gotten at least ten new customers from using classified sites.
-If you know anyone who owns a business or even a friend of a friend. Ask them if you can put a basket of brochures for their employees and customers. Offer the manager and employees a special gift or discount for letting you leave your books there. My boyfriend’s mother runs 2 Herbal Magic stores and she shares my books with her employees and customers.
If I think of any more I will let you know. I have about 40 customers now just from using these tips. I’m not the door-to-door kind of person and I don’t really like to leave too many books in random places because I don’t get very many customers from that. Face-to-Face works a lot better for me. I hope this helps!

Lady Mellisa hit the nail on the head. Let everyone around you know what you do and start building relationships. 20% of your customer will produce 80% of your sells. All of these customer will be the ones you have built relationships with. When I first started in direct sells talking to people was the hardest part. However, I learned that any conversation that is %10 business and 90% just getting to know someone, builds the best relationships and you get a new friend. I also learned that keeping your name fresh in the mind of everybody you meet is inexpensive and fun. I use Send out Cards for this. You should be keeping a rolodex packed with every ones B-days, and special events that are important to them. Even a small note of where you met and what you talked about. I started using SOC because it electronically let me keep a hefty rolodex that I can sort and manage a large list of contacts. Then on a contacts special days it reminds me to send them a card. I select the card I want, type what I want in it and hit sends. SOC then puts the card in a envelope and sends it in the mail for me. Do this for every contact a couple times a year and you have built a relationship. You should also pick up a book or two on direct selling and networking. You can learn alot of marketing tips and things about niche marketing that help. 85% of new business fail not because the owner did not try, but I feel by not putting energy into things that did not build relationships and not letting other know what they did…just my thoughts..Here is the link to test drive the SOC system and send two cards to a friend for free, just click on the banner: https://www.sendoutcards.com/cheerful…
Wear it to work. Bring a sample for each fragrance you are wearing so they can check it out. Live it, breath it. If you own a video store you probably have product in your store for Avon right? You can as a business owner yourself. Put out small give baskets just something small on your counter at checkout. Leave brochures on the counter, they have holders for them cheap!
Use your video customers to make Avon customers out of them. Put up a sign near the register saying “Avon Helpers Wanted”. Make up contracts for them *(I have some if needed I’ll email), give them discounts on products or percentages off their sales.
If you are a successful video store owner you can work them together. Good luck. I was just passing by and most likely won’t ever see a response, if you need to contact me I’m at

When you own your own business and are also an Avon Representative you can actually display Avon Products in your Business. To start out I would buy from the Outlet catalogs and place them on a shelf as “Avon Sale Items” make sure your customers know they are a sale and may be discontinued later on. This isn’t always good business practice but I can assure you they will sell quicker, making you more money. Also in the Demo book purchase the “Newest Fragrance” for men and women and display them. Purchase Outlet flyers and display them on your counter. Handing out Brochures gets expensive. If someone asks for a catalog I would offer your eRep site first then a Brochure if they do not want to look online. 65% of Customers will more likely BUY what they see! Good luck
