My dad really annoys me.

i’ve been teaching myself guitar for the past several months. One of my friends who has been playing for years and takes lessons says that im pretty good. Whenever i learn something new i try to play it for my family but my dad always gives me crap on how its not good enough and stuff and how he wants to hear mexican guitar or some crazy finger picking thing. Its come to the point where he wont even let me finish before he starts B****n at me. I am getting fed up and dont know how to deal with him.

By the way, my dad is in no way musically inclined. He cant play anything and cant even carry a tune. I also play a trombone in my high school band and im teaching myself piano. Im only adding this to give you more background in order to give you a better understanding of the situation.

Yes, talk to your dad. Maybe the guitar work you’ve accomplished could be so much better, according to hi,m, so he complains about the type you’re doing?

I’m a Dad. I’m looking at it from a Dad’s viewpoint.
