friends help: Kinda strange - Help.com

Kinda strange

Lately, my friends have kinda been umm….unfriendly towards me. They never tell me anything, they claim I’m always busy, but they tell me too late, so i have plans. I have a job, and other things to do, so i AM a little busy I suppose. And now, I’m spending alot of time with Garrett, cuz he my best friend right now I rely on him for a lot of things. So now he’s stealing me away from them. But really, he’s the one that matters. A TRUE friend. They’re all in thier own little world and I’m struggling right now and they dont even notice, and Garrett just looks at me once and he knows that some thing is wrong. He cares. Now, would you rather hang out with people who dont really care unless it involves them, or someone who cares about you?

Well, it just sounds like you’re growing up to me. I’m not sure how old you are but as we get older, the casual socialization we did in high school seems to become less. If Garret is your boyfriend, then it stands to reason that you would spend more time with him than your friends.

On friday, I was talking to Garrett, and I asked him what I looked like and he said “Someone who needs a break” because my friends have been giving me nothing but **** for “not being around”

Well, they might just miss you. But I don’t know them or your situation. Sometimes, we have different seasons in our life where old friends and the things we used to do become unappealing. Sometimes we realize that it’s time to move on.
