No, it’s not really ok. You need to take things at the recommended doses. If you don’t want to have them as often, ask your doctor about changing to the one where you only have three or four a year.

i think you can do that but it shouldn’t be a regular thing. I’ve heard it suggested for use if your going on vacation or camping or something and getting your peopid would be really inconvenient.

What birth control pills are you on? Just asking, because usually they say something on the little information sheet that you’re given with the pills.

However, I’m pretty sure with most of them, it’s okay to skip the placebo pills so you can prevent a period. Depending on how long you’ve been on the BC and what type it is, you may have some spotting though ..or what they call “breakthrough bleeding”. I wouldn’t reccomend skipping the placebo pills every month, it could relly mess your body up. If you’re planning on doing that, ask your OB/GYN to prescribe a different pill.
I’ll look for some links on the topic and post them when I find them. :)

If you plan on doing this only occasionally, I honestly don’t see any harm in it. Then again, I am not a health care professional. I only believe this from reading about it and doing it myself. I’ve skipped my placebo pills probably twice since I’ve been on BC. It never messed my body up.
