life help: I want to improve myself. - Help.com

I want to improve myself.

I know that making improvements to yourself has to be a conscious decision every day, but i don’t know why i constantly make the unconscious decision to not try at all. There are so many things that i want to change about myself. Starting with my appearance but also being a more productive student, finding a job, and figuring out what i want to do for the rest of my life. Any thoughts on why i’m a screw up?

take baby steps. get a journal, and every night before you go to bed put down three things whihc you will accomplish the next day. make this your number 1 priority. always check the list and always check it off. as a reward, for a week of completing everything, buy yourself something, a new shirt etc. as you get used to completing small goals, you can move on to bigger monthly or weekly projects

shame… shame is a big part of why we all screw up. I recommend reading, “Why Good People do Bad Things”, by Debbie Ford… excellent book… it’s will shine some light on your issues… I guarantee it.

lol, yea i go to mizzou. Hows Wash-U? I know a girl from high school thats there. I wish it were so much easier. Like, literally flipping a switch and everything would be better. The journal idea is a good one, it would prolly help me get to sleep faster too.

Ha, asking if i know someone at mizzou is kind of a fruitless question. Every year we get more people. Somethin like 30 tho this year. But no, i don’t know him. From what i hear tho you hafta be a genius to stay at washu.

My deep congrates to. Knowing that you have a proplem is first step of solving it. If you feel you need to improve yourself in many things, it means that you have a great inner thoughts. Meaning that you have a critical mine which is very helpful in the treatment process. I’ll get to the point. It doesn’t matter if you are fat, skinny or whatever your proplem with your appearance. The way to solve your proplems is the way you think of them. I’ll give you an example. I had a problem driving with I was 16. Whenever I think of stop trying, I see other kids driving like none is watching them doing mistakes. I thought “these brats are not better than me. I can pretend none is looking at me as well.” You know what, this theory has given me confidance, courage and happyness about myself in many things other than driving. You should try it.

Allow me to explain. Many people can’t actually relize their problems. You know why?
Because they are not as thoughtful as you are. In other words, they lack the deapth inner thinking that you have. Only few people has this ability of thinking deeply into things and even fewer who learned how to put it into use. Instead, this capacity becomes an obstacle in the way of achievment and prosperousness. Think of your appeance as common and wonderful. There’s no such a perfect person and you can go on with other problems like this.

You are not a screw up, especially for wanting to do better and taking the steps to do so. The real failures are the ones that fall down and never get up, those that give up on life. Read As A Man Thinketh by James Allen this should aid you.
