How do you get your boyfriend to stop saying he’s fat?

?? I’m dating this big guy, hot as hell, very muscular, but not very toned. He has some image issues, that drive me crazy. Basically he thinks that he’s really fat, and doesn’t listen to me when I try to disagree with him. I like this guy a lot and I just want him to see himself as I see him. A perfect fit. Any ideas on what to do?

yeah i was seeing a boy that did that all the time, i would always flick his face when he did it and told him to stop being stupid and looking for me to say that he wasn’t and that he was sexy. It worked, and made him stop, but probably not making him feel any better. I think you shold talk to him about it, ask him if he’s just doing it for attention.

Aww i know how he feels because i have image issues too. No matter what you tell him hes going to think hes fat until he does something to change his outlook. Whether it be accept how he look or exercise. I think hes use to being more in shape or miss his old figure so he think he look fat.

haha, Yeah sorry when girls do something like that, sometimes they’re just doing it for attention, and my ex used to do it ALL the time. People just love to be told they’re attractive, just make sure he really knows how much you like him and how attractive you think he is. I used to joke with my ex about how i was only with him for his looks.

Well now that you put it like that maybe i do do it for attention lol. I mean i cant help it which means that they probably cant either. We see an unattractive person so we have to be reasured that you find us attractive inorder to feel secure.

Yeah human nature and all. You could be right, that could be it, when he’s hanging with me. But he’s like that with his friends too, and I’m certain that he’s not trying to get his guyfriends to tell him he’s hot.

But if you were really fat or wahtever their reactions would be different, unless they’re really good actors. They would say “no you’re not fat….”and then like drag it off and change the subject, or they would get wicked mad and be like NO, You’re not fat, so shut up, which is what happens with a lot of girls who do it for attention. OR if you were really fat they would be like mmmm and change the subject really quickly, or be ike NO THIS person is fat, and give an example of who is REALLY fat.

NO thats not always what happens, honestly, its just what i do normally, different people are different. But to REALLY know if you’re overweight or something, has your DR expressed any concern? Look up your height weight ratio.
And i’m sorry my statement before didn’t really make sense, i was expressing the first as who IS saying you’re not fat just to be nice, and the second saying you’re not fat as in the truth.
