Will the minute cards you can buy for pre-paid phones actually work.

Becuase i just saw an 11 dollar card with 500 minutes on it.
And on the plan it says its 25cents a minute. I’m so confused.

Maybe the 500 minutes is for local calls and the 25cents/minute is for long distance. I’ve always felt that calling cards are a scam.
