So what do you do to keep yourself busy? Have you read up on anxiety?

I also suffer from anxiety, I had a bit of a prick for a boyfriend that thought it would be funny to abuse me. That was three years ago and I am stronger and wiser than before :-)

It takes time and I still use medication for my panic attacks but I am atleast smiling again, and I have a new job and a new boyfriend that is absolutely wonderful.

Hi las44. This site has a lot of insightful helpers. They normally get online around 8 hours from now. Make sure your post is visible then and I’m sure you will bond with a few people. Meanwhile you have received good advice here already. All I can add is that you seem to know you need counselling so don’t delay it. This site will be helpful but it cannot replace the real thing.

Hey Las44, I just wanted to give you a tip on posting anonymously. You mentioned that you wanted to post your problems anonymously but then replied to other responses with your name visible.

I just wanted to let you know, in the future if you want to remain anoymous, if you log out of your account and reply, then your replies won’t be tied to your user name. Or you can choose to reply anonymously without logging out if you check the box next to the “send reply” button that says “reply anonymously”.

I’m not mentioning this b/c I think you are too dumb to see that option but I didn’t know if you didn’t notice it or something since you are new to the site. I just wanted to make sure that you knew you did have the option to remain anonymous if you needed to post something that makes you uncomfortable and you don’t want everyone to know who is posting it.

Ok, that’s all. Oh yea, if you want to remain a member here, make sure you go to your email inbox that you registered here with and open the email that help.com sent you. Another note to Las44. You might be suffering from some post traumatic effects of the rape. Have you gotten any counseling? You can get info on local counseling and support groups at this website. It might only be a short term thing, but this kind of help can be invaluable for getting past any subtle psychological trauma and self-confidence or self-esteem issues.
