I have “Ab hinc” which means “From here on” in Latin on my wrist. It’s always better to get a tattoo that means something to you, not something that just look pretty. You’re stuck with it for a long, long time. It’s always nice to look at it and be reminded of it’s meaning.

Hmm yeah you have to think hard about tattoos; what you want, where you want them etc. Well, it all depends on you, but if I was in the same situation, I would go for a small one on the wrist/hip first. That way, you can decide after you’ve had it, if you want another one, maybe somewhere more noticeable… I want one, but when I think about what it would look like when I’m 50, it really puts me off :)

oh heck no I wouldnt get a name…my friend the day she turned 18 she got her b/fs name really big on her back(they had a on and off relationship and he cheated on her all the time) everyone made fun of her because like 2 days later they broke up..she now has the stupid looking wings on her back to cover it up..they dont look cute they just look bad and manly(becasue it was a mans tattoo)

I wanted a star tattoo untill I found out those are like the “symbol” of being ‘gay’..

bummed me out..

Just make sure it’s something you will still want 20 years from now because they are very hard to get off, and if you do, it is very expensive, and leaves scars and stuff. you’ve probably already heard that before…

Im with Smarty, think forward to when your 70 and in your summer “frock” how is it going to look then ? rather than the wrist Id have it on say the shoulder or somewhere you can hide it. Some Employers look down on tattoos and there are going to be times you don’t need it seen. I love swallows or butterflies, something tasteful for a woman. You are doing the right thing though give it a lot of thought, before you proceed. :-)

As a general rule I wouldn’t get any kind of tattoo that would have any form of reminder of a boyfriend (or in my case, girlfriend). If it doesn’t work out between you two than you’ll have a permanent reminder of him, even if you do not want this later in your life.

Behind your ear for a first tattoo, NO. Nowhere visible. Especially if your not even sure what you want. I don’t like the idea of choosing a design purely because you want a tattoo, I think you should get a tattoo because you have already thought of something you really want.

I’ve got two tattoos at the minute, the first I got because I wanted to commemorate my father in some way as he passed on when I was a child, I got a tattoo with his name incorporated into it. My second one I got purely because I wanted to get another so I went looking for ideas, I don’t particularly like the second one now whereas I can’t imagine myself without the first. Am I making any sense?

I have a star on my ankle and several other small symbols on my body.
Definitely think it through because i HATE one of mine… had it for 4 years and I’ve tried to cut it out… so it looks even worse now.

I think getting matching tattoos is pretty cute, but don’t get half of something lol. Just remember that if you break it off, you’ll have a permanent reminder of it.
My friends (they’re married) have swords and his has a vine of ivy wrapped around it and hers is with a vine of roses. it’s really cute and looks good even if they broke up.

yes that sounds like a good idea..I like the idea of getting like a family members name, my friend has her two girls names on each shoulder blade witch a clover then their names under the clovers..its really cute..but I dont have kids..no one close to me has passed away yet..

I like the idea of getting a meaningful phrase in a foregin language somewhere..

Im a Christian so I was also thinking of getting the christian fish somewhere, or a cross..

be careful with the foregin language one. sometimes they get messed up and then you have a tattoo that doesnt mean anything.
