One thing I do know… is that you can allow your enemy to control everything that you do, or you can face it head on and refuse to allow it to destroy what you have.

You have this place amongst other things.

Closing your account would allow that silent enemy control that it does not deserve.
Stick to fingers up to it and tell it “ok, you get so much of me.. but you don’t get ALL of me!”

Be brave, my friend. Arm yourself with knowledge about your condition. Knowledge will give you a sense of control. You need that.

A friend of mine is going through treatment for breast cancer. Even through two courses of chemo, she’s enjoying a glass of wine with her curry.
She’s an amazing lady. She’s always smiling, and refuses to be beaten. And, she’s a tiny wee thing.

cancer is like a boxer, you may get punched at the start of the fight but if you stay strong and fight back you can win and you will survive

Cancer can be beaten. Our first reaction upon hearing we have it is to get depressed though.
Don’t let that happen.

Well, you should get in touch with them and ask for all the information including support groups.
There are a lot of free social services for cancer patients.

Make a plan to ring him tomorrow.

Write down any questions you have so that you don’t forget to ask what’s on your mind … leave a space to scribble notes as you go.

When you have confirmation of some facts and details, you can do some research and arm yourself!

I didn’t say that but if you said you had cancer you obviously went to a doctor and the doctor wouldn’t just say you have cancer he’d tell you the type and your options

Well, your post reads a bit like you were the one making fun, with the *sobs*, *cries* and *sniff*. If you were 13 and really had cancer, even if you were too “in shock” to remember what kind it was, your parents would know. So, no, I don’t really believe that you have cancer. And posting that you do takes away from others who are really sick.

On the other hand I’m not omniscient, and it’s possible that you do have this terrible disease. If that’s so, you need to find out as much about it as possible and take an active role in your treatment.

The choice is yours my friend but I will miss you.
