world help: How is your online “help.com” persona different than your real world character? - Help.com

I curse a lot more in real life… I also say the n-word nonstop. I censor myself for the sake of Help.

i put more thought into what i say before i say it(type it). i am more willing to say things that i really believe in and stick up for what i think is right. having a different persona kinda allows me to not have to worry about being judged by the rest of society

I type almost the same way that I talk, except without the accent of course or nobody would get what I was saying. The main difference is I’m a lot more outgoing and swear less, act more sociable here.

A few places, and a few other people’s mannerisms and accents rubbing off on me.

The only thing is that I take more time to give my advice!
But I think’s that’s just a product of having time to do so. In real life there are millions of distractions going on around you.

But the kinds of things I say, and the way I express myself are more or less the same :D

I’m totally nicer on Help. I think it’s because I have a moment to censor myself. In reality I am a lot more emotional and quick to anger.
On Help I have a second to make sure I’m not being an idiot.

i mean… id been called “pretty” and “beautiful” and stuff but thats only by like my parents and parents friends and stuff…. audlts always call kids beautiful haha

hmm i talk more to people on here then in real life just for the simple fact that i feel more at ease with them. also i don’t swear on here, whereas that’s the only way to get anyone’s attention where i live.

Well, a few people complimented the old picture. That was me with long hair. Then about three weeks ago I went a litte ‘crazy’ and gave myself a hair cut!
I’ve been getting nothing but real life compliments for weeks now!
Can’t complain about that! But yours is the first one for the new avatar on here!

It makes me look a little crazy, but its just this weird face I pull every time someone wants to take a photo and I’m in the middle of a conversation!
It’s like my ‘hurry up and take the picture so I can go back to wahtever I was doing before you pulled your camera out’ face! lol

Almost the same but i am more impatient in real life. It is difficult to be impatient here as i don’t want to argue on this site. I always try to have a nicer experience here.

I am more sociable in my real life. And i think i am liked by more people in my personal life. Once they get to know me. It is not easy to know someone for real in the virtual world. :)

Also I am a little braver at confronting bigotry and stupidity and trollery on this site. Although lately in public for some reason (maybe I’ve just had enough of stupid people) I’ve been not taking anyone’s crap and just saying ‘hey, you’re being unelightened and that sucks. Get real man (or woman)!’

very different…here ppl listen to me and even take my advice. I can use my life experiences to help others that believe that im insightful and have good words of advice. on the outside my life is full of problems …hauntings from the past..a juggly present and uncertanty about the future and everybody thinks im an angry person. ppl c me for who i am here. i love it
