Stop help: I need help. - Help.com

I need help.

My face is always breaking out, and people always say it’s not that bad, but I think it is, so I tend to pick my face. It hasn’t done much damage yet, but I can’t stop, and I’m afraid I really will hurt my face in the end. what can I do to discourage myself from my “self mutilation”? Advice would really help. I’m desperate.

Nooo dont pick , dont pick !! try putting some more fresh fruit and veg into your diet, take a multi vit, eat grapes which are great for the skin, I bought my son some Neem seed oil, which you can get from health stores. Whatever you do don’t pick babes, you’ll leave some nasty old scars :-)

I know it’s hard but you have to stop picking! Try wearing gloves so you will notice when you reach up to pick at your skin. It’s normal to have breakouts sometimes, just find a skin cleansing regimen that works and drink more water. This will pass in time!

I will definately try drinking more water and eating more fruit and vegi, and maybe the Neem seed oil, although I’ve never heard of it. Thanks for your posts, they were helpful! Interesting comment about sulfuric acid in chem class. not going to try that i don’t think!

THE ULTIMATE ANSWER TO ALL YOUR SKIN’S NEEDS:

CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!

and witchhazel oil.
Go buy some from the Walmart or drugstore. And some round cotton pads. Cover the entire pad with the oil and wipe your face with it at least four times a day until you start to clear up. (this’ll probably take a week or so.)

In the mean time::: be patient with yourself.

drink lots of water. Water is the answer to almost any health issue.
sleep. Get two or three more hours of sleep than you’re used to, wipe your face with the cotton pad/oil before you go to sleep and right when you wake up.

Other tricks:
Steam open your pores and use a mask. This gets out the gross huge ones that hurt. I stand in the shower (without getting my hair wet) and let the water get really hot and the air around me really steamy. Then I get a washcloth wet with the hot water and press it (dripping wet) against my face, letting the heat go into the skin. Then I put the mask all over my face. After letting it set it for 5-10 minutes, I get the washcloth extremely hot and wet again and lay it on my face again, not rubbing, just letting it break up the mask and cleanse the open pores a bit.

If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know.
