it means they set there invite settings to friend only, which means you must both add each other before you can invite each other.

in other words, he hasnt added you and his invite settings are on friend only so only friends can invite him to posts, not fans

Well, I have a confession to make. I didn’t even realize how to add friends until Dougie told me how to yesterday. Everyone who had added me was a “fan” not a friend, and I didn’t know why. Duh . . . LOL!

I had even been feeling a little sad cuz I’d been here a while and didn’t have any friends. Anyway, my apologies to those of you I hadn’t accepted before now (some of who are on this post!).

I still don’t know about it. But in friendster it means that you cannot view his profile and you cannot post for him and messages.

I don’t know really what you mean, probably since I am not good with computers and stuff. I am 53 years old and just recently learned to do basic stuff, but I wanted to try to answer you because you were kind enough to send me a very thoughtful comment on my awful neighbor. My husband agrees with me that your advice is right on.

Anyway, talking about people not giving out their pictures–it just sort of reminds me of how I communicated on a certain web site for 2 years with a teenager from Oklahoma. She contacted me first, and I spoke to her as I would to any young person, with great care. I told her a lot about myself–my disability, my wonderful husband, my beloved cats and dogs–mostly good stuff, but also some tragic stuff, like how my schizophrenic brother had to be put in a rest home this year and he is only 44 years old. Bear with me–I’m getting to the point–
The site we talked on shut down recently. We have each other’s email addresses so I tried to email her but she never replied. She listed me as a friend on one site, but when I looked at the site I was not comfortable with it (can’t remember why right now). Anyway, she had actually called me a couple of times, so I called her and left a message, but she never replied so I’ll let it go.

I’m thinking that people get scared or maybe a little paranoid about computer communicating, even to the point of not wanting their picture on there. I may be guilty myself (I mean by not being willing to join the site she invited me to join). In my case, again, part of the problem is that I’m uncomfortable with computers, especially the internet, and that girl was a computer expert next to me. In fact, she is studying to be a web page designer. So, maybe that sheds some light on why people may not want their faces shown just anywhere.
