hiyaah guys i need major help for some higher maths hwk!

the question iss

A plastic cylinder can hold 1000 cm3 of liquid.
Show that the surface area o the cylinder, S(r), is given by the formula S(r)=2[pi]r[squared] + 2000/r

where r is the radius of the circular base.

theress also a diagram of a cylinder and in the lengthyy bit it says 2[pi]r h
and on the circular base it says [pi]r[squared]

hope someone can help, please!!

:)x

Hi here is the answer.

Volume of cylinder = [pi] r[sqr] h = 1000
[pi] r h = 1000/r —— (equation 1)
Surface area of Cylinder S(r)= 2 [pi] r h + 2 [pi] r [sq]
{height x perimeter of circle} + {twice the area of circle}

so S(r) = 2 {[pi] rh} + 2 [pi] r [sq] ———- (equation 2)
sub equation 1 in curly bracket in equation 2
S(r) = 2 {1000/r} + 2 [pi] r [sq]./answer.
