Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
**** the hacker, don’t pay him money. Have your friend call everyone and say to ignore any messages from his email address while he sorts it out.
obviously.
I’m not that stupid
not like I have that much available anyway
and I can’t contact the person

Which person?
the map says I live in the middle of the ocean, on the equator
Is it usually that off?

Why can’t you contact the friend?
well aside from the said hijacked email
probably currently on an airplane
Hm. If your friends on the plane, then how long has this email been compromised?
I was online when the email was sent
so at max, three hours
Your friend have any sensitive info on it?
Can’t he contact yahoo/msn, whoever, provide his details to prove he owns the account, have it closed?
maybe. if he knows it’s hijacked
email says he’s in nigeria on an urgent trip
give me a second while i send you the text
All you can do is wait for your friend right now, then try to get the account closed.

Yeah, any one who received that will be smart enough to know it’s a scam, and the scammer seems just to be trying to do that, not anything else. Just wait for your friend.
and he owns a computer so there shouldn’t be a problem with that
but do they have control of the email?
living in america I don’t have any pounds
maybe a few canadian dollars…

Seems so. They could be reading all his messages, gt into his other online accounts if he got verification emails to sites, depends on how far they go. But they want money, messing with him doesn’t seem to be the priority.
amazon.com account uh oh
that’s linked to the credit card and it goes downhill from there
cupy_5204 wrote:

to buy something you have to sign in again, the verification link wouldn’t go that far.. I think…
you have to hope so
The scammer hopefully won’t take it so far, and even if he does, nothing you can do right now.
or hope that the scammer inexperienced as he might be, overlooked those emails
if he didn’t delete them
hmm. do they even use pounds in nigeria?
