What are you thankful for?

It’s Thanksgiving, at least where I am, so get in the spirit…

I’m thankful for tissue paper, chocolate milk, sweet potato pie, this site, my little brother who rules, warm socks, and friends.

My family and my friends, and the fact that I’m having 23 people over for Thanksgiving dinner without freaking out so far!

But most of all, I’m thankful that my mom is going to be able to EAT Thanksgiving dinner with us. She was on tube feedings for a few weeks after being in the hospital for 2 weeks (including 4 days in ICU) and was told she would never be able to eat again. So I’m so thankful she proved “them” wrong! And to think I’d always taken being able to EAT Thanksgiving dinner for granted . . .

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the site!

I am thankful for my three children. They are all sick today, though, so we are not really having the “traditional” Thanksgiving.

Congrats to Felicity!!!!! How wonderful!

Iwana….I think you are brave. The largest number of people that I have cooked for was 12. :)

I agree, tissue paper is great. When I was a kid and visited my cousins in the country, they actually had an outhouse which was stocked with the Sears-Roebuck catalog and corn cobbs!

Warm socks are good too, for wearing that is.

Great post Ikari. The rest of this reply is quoted from my reply to Richard’s Thanksgiving post.

Today I’m thankful for my family. My kids are with me, but this year we didn’t get to travel “over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house”. Yesterday morning our golden retriever’s temperature dropped, which meant that she might be about to have her puppies. We took her to the vet, who did a sonogram to make sure the puppies are still alive (thankfully they are) since she is several days early. Also, he took an X-ray which showed that she will have 8 pups. Lastly, a blood test revealed that she should have the litter within 24 hours. She’s had some contractions, but no puppies yet.

We canceled our travel plans (don’t want to deliver pups in the back of the car on the shoulder of the interstate, lol), so for the first time in my life I’m not at my mom’s house with extended family for Thanksgiving. But the local grocery store came through with a turkey and all the fixin’s, so the traditional meal will go on, if somewhat un-traditionally.

Lots to be thankful for. And this year I’m thankful for my online family as well. If life is a feast, you guys are the gravy.

I am thankful for family, friends, church, youth group, my guys in my Sunday school class that I get to teach, life, food, clothes, necessities, love, happiness, this site, and the ability to share what I have learned with those who are still learning and at the same time learn from them. :] Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
