Xbox 360 or PS3?

Long story short, I’m trying to decide on a console. I need opinions on which one and what size hard drive you think it best.

I’ve been a big video game buff ever since I can remember. Being a girl, it’s needless to say that not many people consider video games as an option when purchasing me a gift, and with Christmas rolling around, it would be nice to save some of my own money and perhaps con a few friends into getting me a game instead of some sweater I’m never gonna wear. My only problem is that I own the Wii, PlayStation 2, GameCube, DS, etc… and I’m running out of games that interest me in those categories.

Looking over games on the Xbox and PS3, I’ve found a number of titles that sound interesting and looking intense. Luckily most of the titles are shared between the systems, but I’ve found a few titles restricted to each that I still would love to try one day. So, I simply need to choose a system and get it over with, but I’m not sure which is the better buy.

Xbox has more titles, is cheaper in price (by the ones I’ve seen), and seems to be the more talked about choice when looking at people comparing the two. However, I’ve already owned a PlayStation console before (2 actually) and am a little reluctant to move over after hearing some horror stories about the Xbox consoles.

The backwards compatibility of the PS3 was an awesome feature considering I’d be able to keep my old games without needing my old system. Dealing with the idea of a hard drive on my console though, it makes sense to want a larger hard drive if you plan on saving a lot of different games. I’ve had plenty of friends recommend getting a PS3 that’s a 60 GB and just upgrading it myself which I find awesome since it would be backwards compatible, but it seems impossible to find one that is anymore. So, if I’m stuck buying a new system just for the new games, there isn’t an upside to one or the other.

Also, I’m not a big online multi-player fan, so online access isn’t high up on my list. I might take advantage of the feature every now and then, but I don’t plan on using it every time I turn it on. Mostly, which ever console I get is going to be strictly for my gaming pleasure, not because of online connectivity or because I can watch Blu-ray disc on it, but simply because I wish to play a video game.

So, can you all give me your opinion on which is a better console and also what type of hard drive you would recommend for it as well.

If you weren’t on a budget, I’d just tell you to get a nice gaming PC.

Playing games on a Xbox/PS3 is totally different from playing games on a PC.. Can’t even be compared.. And sure - X 360 is pro-stuff

X BOX is cheaper, but I have a PS3 so I prefer the PS3.

XboX 360. I own a PS2 as well but the style of games is changing and believe me, those titles coming out for the 360 are revolutionary. PS3 is nice too but I believe that the things coming out for that aren’t just as innovative as what Microsoft is hosting. I have an xbox 360 and I have never regreted my choice in purchasing one. I play online as well too but many games are very enjoyable playing by myself as well. But hey, go with what suits you the best.

Well, I have a ps3 and don’t regret buying it. Both systems have there pros and cons, but ps3 would be better because to me xbox360 is not very good if you don’t have online
