Yes. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I know things have changed since I was a kid.
Not everyone has changed…I still cook dinner every night and my kids help out and we have a great time from cooking to clean up (we have great water fights too…)

That’s true, but people like you have become the exception and not the norm.
Yeah, but more women are working outside of the home now and don’t have the time or energy to make large meals. Microwaveable food tends to be cheaper and faster.
I didn’t cook for 2 years after my wife’s death. No time, no energy. Since I found my girlfriend, I suddenly have lots of energy and time to make her fresh toast and an omelette every morning. We also enjoy making dinner together and though she’s the professional chef, I do much of the cooking. When it’s collaborative, we talk together, help each other, and interact in a fun away. We try new things. It’s just become part of our relationship, something we both enjoy.
When one person has to do all the cooking, it becomes a grind and a job.

My mom did. Working full-time too… I get what you’re saying though lol.
Soon your dinner will be a tablet made from Glutonium Ultra X and will transform into a steaming plate of food after exposure to sub-platonic waves. the only disadvantage to this of course being that the entire human race becomes so ******* lazy that they all forget how to DO anything, and so we all die.

Youuuu never did reply to my shout! :(
This makes Catman sad.
Our microwave died a week ago, it has made food cooking kind of annoying—generally when I’m trying to reheat leftovers from the made from scratch dinner the night before.
My Fiance and I cook at home most days, 1-2 times a month we go out.
A lot of our food is 1-2 hrs of prep and 1-2 hrs of cooking.

Life is what you make it - I am a divorced mom of two kids and I work at least 45-50 hours weekly. We do simple homecooked meals on the weekdays…a piece of chicken, some rice or potatoes, a salad or veggies…what’s so time consuming about that? then again, It’s something I enjoy.
Some people like cooking, others find it a chore. More women work outside the home, and when they get home they want to relax. Those who enjoy cooking do it as their after-work wind-down and are probably the ones who provide homecooked meals most nights. The others relax in another way they enjoy and eat microwaveable meals.
Kuvri - that’s very true…I do use it as a method to spend time with my kids and it’s enjoyable. I have many friends who despise cooking - they love take out and their microwaves.
But out of curiosity, I asked several of them if they ever cooked with their parents and they all said no. I wonder what if anything that may have to do with it?
