life help: Being rejected for being mexican for a year was one thing, being rejected by your family your entire life for your age is another. - Help.com

Being rejected for being mexican for a year was one thing, being rejected by your family your entire life for your age is another.

four years ago i went to a new school, i was picked on for being Mexican, my class was racist but later they got better. i have been excluded from my family gathrings for my age my entire life. yesturday on thanksgiving it was like i was too young to participate in older teenage conversations or adult conversations, too young to play with the kids and of course the boys have their video games. i want this to stop but how?

its a weird place to be for anyone.

i know that i have no place to relate to race issues, being white, but i do have my own experiences with reverse racism.

i was the only white girl in my school for eight years.
everyone was mexican.

racism just happens… it is a good lesson to learn in life - it is good to see how NOT to be, i guess.

things will get better….

your age is a weird place to be… but in time… it will change.
and when you are the teenager… and see the one kid who is alone– you can make sure he/she feels part of things.

life can be great… and when people throw mud at you - it just means you are alive and you can make mud pies!

:)

life gets better….
and then it gets hard
and then it gets better

we just have to keep going and wait for the good stuff.

The whole family thing is part of growing up. You are at that inbetween age, yes it sucks, but enjoy it because soon you will have to work and working sucks more.

About the racism -when you are old enough- move. I am moving back to Florida in May, because Texas sucks. Just realize those kids in your school are ignorant - their parents raised them wrong.

I know exactly how you feel I’m not aloud to participate in certain things now but I just think of it this way:

When I’m older those menies will be kissing my ***!!!
