assuming space is infinite, or at least very very vast, probability dicitates that if one planet managed to have the exact conidtions to spawn life, then there will be many more plants, unfortunatly the probability of any of those planets being near enough for us to travel to is very remote….

although technically the average population of the universe is zero

Like earth? too vague.
In the whole of space it would be highly unlikely that we are the only ones.
But in our galaxy, well we probably are the only intelligent civilisation.
