What would the world be like if…

..

Hey everyone, I thought for a bit of fun, and to promote thinking outside the box…
I would start a series of hypotheticals…..

I’m curious to see people’s responses…
And I am considering writing some time travel/parallel universe related storylines for an uncoming project!

So first one….

What would the world be like if….. Al Gore had won the 2000 US election?

I’m guessing we would be a little further progressed in regards to slowing climate change and creating sustainable living.

I further think that we would not have our military forces in Iraq currently.

I don’t think it really matters. All politicians are the same. People blame the economy, the war, so on and so on on the president, but it’s really congress that passes the legislation. Congress voted to go to Iraq, and the economy problem is from a much earlier bubble in housing combined with the unrealistic feelings of entitlement Americans have.

So I’d say the president really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things nowadays, he’s only a few steps up from a figurehead. You have to be realistic and admit that both political parties are practically the same. Spending too much money, and supporting the constitution only when it serves them. We would still have the same problems, no doubt.

However, if Al Gore were president, he wouldn’t have come out with An Inconvenient Truth, and that would make my Environmental Studies class slightly more pleasant, and the environmental movement a teensy bit more logical.
