Since my last post, I have moved into my house I shared with my ex.

He is recently remarried(thank God) and my kids are living with me, 3 of them anyway. My boyfriend and I are still together, but his best “friend” of 40 yrs keeps trying to interfere with our relationship. I love him, but am not certain if we will survive.

I feel he’s trying to keep my boyfriend to himself. He’s never been married or in a steady relationship. He’s trying to get him involved with a woman that lives close to him. The only thing I can come up with. I guess we’ll just have to see how it turns out. Thanks for the comment.

Your first instincts are usually right OR your subconscious will make sure it won’t last because of those thoughts. From my short experiences in this life. People don’t get rid of their friends. And if they do, they’ll resent you for making them get rid of them. I don’t see this ending good. Sorry.

Thanks, I think your probably right. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for some time now. I do have a gut feeling, so to say, about the whole situation. He’s a really good man, but still keeps all his old relationships as friends. Maybe it’s all my issues, I guess I’ll have to figure it all out.

I think I’m insecure so I could never go for that. But then again I’ve been burnt to many times buy women who’ve had their ex’s as friends and ended up sleeping with them. To be fair, I did too. So in my mind the ex’s as friends stuff doesn’t work. I’m probably wrong but that’s just my experiences. Anyway, if you don’t feel comfortable with it you are more than entitled to feel that way. I say enjoy the relationship for what it is now and don’t stress too much.

That’s kind of the conclusion I came to a few minutes ago. The way I feel about his friend, I know it would probably never work for us. I too have been burnt. My ex-husband cheated on me, lying to cover it up. We were married for 29 yrs and have 4 kids. I finally got tired of it and left him. It’s hard to trust after that. Thank you for all the advice, it helps to have a sounding board, just to get it in your own head. Thank you
