I was wrongfully convicted of a crime, now I can’t

get a job, my life is destroyed every time I am google searched, and it is impossible to get my life going again. No one wants to hire me, and those that want to are stopped by corporate rules. How the hell are you supposed to start over again in this nation when everything is set against you?

Are you still incarcerated? That would make it really tough to find a job.

Go on your state’s website and find info on getting a pardon. Or you can google information about getting your record expunged if you think it’s that terrible.

are you sure you were wrongfully convicted or just not facing up to the fact that you did wrong and were caught. Most folks that are incarcerated think they were wrongfully convicted.

We need some more information: the nature of the crime, if you served time, whether or not you had a public defender, how you pled, whether or not your lawyer filed for an appeal, how long ago . . .

In the meantime, you may want to contact the Innocence Project: http://www.innocenceproject.org/?gcli…

You should also know that there are procedures for having certain crimes expunged from your record.

You may also be able to get a new trial or a pardon. My guess is that your legal representation “sucked.” But you need to fill us in.

more information would help. What were you convicted of? Do you still have time to appeal/are you in a state that allows appeal?

Why is it so hard to understand that he can be innocent?

” are you sure you were wrongfully convicted or just….”

I don’t speak English, but this is my response to a previous post:

As a resident of a socialist country, i recognize such comments to be typical for people who are indoctrinated by socialist ideals:

1. “The state is never wrong”
2. “The police is always right”
3. “The justice system can’t fail”

etcetera etcetera….

Neither you or your own friends and relatives are immune to false convictions. You can be the nicest person in the world, and still end up in prison. I advice people to grow up and start thinking.

Thank you.

If it was 7 years ago, move to California. Employers can’t background check beyond 7 years for criminal records or arrest. Its the law.
